Chanju
Lee is an artist interested in film art, animation, and digital art installation
areas with an MFA in Korean Painting and Drawing in South Korea. After graduating Digital Filmmaking and Arts(MFA) at Georgia State University,
she is currently studying Digital media(MS) at Georgia Institute of Technology.
She collaborated in the 2002 FIFA WORLD
CUP KOREA/JAPAN opening ceremony with U-design. Her drawings were the
main subject of the multimedia projection during the World Cup opening
ceremony. She has had three solo exhibitions and 25 group exhibitions
and film screenings. She received several awards and scholarships such
as Winnie G. Chandler Scholarship (2008, Georgia State University ) and
Woman In Film Atlanta/ General Motors Scholarship (2005.) Recently, her
short animations, Bear Woman – Transformation (3 min) received as the
Second Place Juror’s Award at the 2008 Juried Student Exhibition in Ernest
G.Welch School of Arts and Design Gallery. Living Creature (7min) was
screened at the 2008 Decatur Film Festival and received as an Image Film
Award at the 2007 Juried Student Exhibition in Ernest G.Welch School of
Arts and Design Gallery. Her short fiction film, Bad Dream (9 min) was
officially selected at the 2008 Decatur film festival and 2006 Urban Mediamakers
Film Festival. Tiger Dream (1 min) was officially selected at the 2006
Urban Mediamakers Film Festival and received as an Honorable Mention at
the 2005 Georgia Big Picture Conference Film Festival. |
